I took my first in a series of flower classes today, buttercream flowers. I had a rough start because my frosting wasn't stiff enough and the flowers kept "oozing" together but once I fixed my frosting they started to come out much better.
We were shown Wild Roses, Roses, Pansys, Daisy's, Sweet Pea's, Daffodils, and drop flowers.
I also got some great tips and tricks that will hopefully help my baking/decorating. Did you know you can level a cake without a knife?? As soon as it comes out of the oven use a towel to press on the top of it until it is leveled out.
