TipNut they have a post for 30+ free pincushion patterns. I have had my old pincushion for about 15 years and it was one of the basic tomato ones you buy in the store. Believe me I have gotten my money's worth out of it and then some! So I decided to make a new one.
Just cut 2 pieces of your favorite fabic (about 8 inch diameter is what I used) sew them together with right sides facing each other, leaving a small opening to turn. I learned that if you use a zig zag stitch to sew around curves you wont have to make relief cuts when you turn it inside out.
