I made these red velvet cupcakes for Valentine's Day
I made the heart decorations on top by piping royal icing onto a Silpad and letting them dry for several days before peeling them off. The frosting is my cream cheese frosting but I added some vanilla bean paste, Love that stuff!
Cream Cheese Frosting
8 oz cream cheese softened
1 stick butter softened
2 pounds powdered sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla
1-2 Tbsp milk (if needed)
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
Beat cream cheese and butter for 1-2 minutes, add vanilla. Start adding powdered sugar ~1/2 cup at a time until consistency and flavor is achieved, may add milk to thin icing if needed
