I made these cute little pumpkin cake pops for my coworkers the other day. I didn't feel like making any frosting to pipe on leave and vines so I just used some chocolate candy covered sunflower seeds for the leaves.
The cake was left over from a pony cake I had carves a few weeks ago. When I carve cakes I hate to waste the left over cake and I don't want to eat it either so I started mixing it with some of the frosting, formed balls and freeze them in tupperware containers with parchment paper inbetween the layers. Then anytime I feel like making cake pops I don't have to start from scratch. I have a big chest freezer and the cake pops seem to still be good for up to a month or two once frozen.
